The International Movement for Community Development (IMCD) hosts the Online Avurudu Uthsawaya, celebrating the Sinhala and Hindu New Year in a modern, inclusive way. Launched in 2014, it has grown from an internal event to an international celebration, allowing people worldwide to join virtually. The event has showcased global participation, such as crowning an Avurudu Queen from Sri Lanka living in Russia. This celebration not only honors cultural traditions but also supports IMCD’s community development efforts, raising awareness and funds for their philanthropic projects.
