The International Movement for Community Development (IMCD) is an independent, non-governmental, and not-for-profit organization dedicated to uplifting the livelihoods of underprivileged communities. Founded on March 17, 2012, and officially registered on September 4, 2013, under the Voluntary Social Services Organization Act No. 31 of 1980 and its amendment Act No. 8 of 1998, IMCD operates under the Ministry of Defense and Urban Development in Sri Lanka.
IMCD's community service initiatives span various critical areas, including education, disaster relief, water and sanitation, youth entrepreneurship, elder and child care, youth skills development, and spreading joy. With over 120+ successful projects completed across Sri Lanka, IMCD has significantly impacted numerous communities. The organization has also created volunteer opportunities for over 900 youth in Sri Lanka, fostering a culture of community service and empowerment.
